Emergency First Aid at Work +Sport UKA Cat B


Outline:


This 8 hour course is designed to provide UK Athletics coaches with the necessary skills required to deal with Adults and Children in a First Aid situation where proffessional medical care is not immediately available.


The course can take place in your Sports complex or individuals can book on an open course if the requirement is present.


As many coaches have a regular full time job ontop of the coaching, the course can be on a weekend or an evening or split over 2 sessions.


Objectves:


Help a Adult or child who is:

• unresponsive and breathing normally (recovery positon)

• unresponsive and not breathing normally (CPR & AED)

• having a seizure

• choking

• bleeding

• suffering from anaphylactic shock

• who has burns or scalds

• who has a suspected sprian, strain or fracture

• Help a child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose


Also covered are Drowning and putting together appropriate contents for a first aid box


All partcipants will receive the Qualsafe ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ Book to refer to,

following the course.

Parent/Carer Paediatric course

Parent/Carer Paediatric course


Outline:


This 2 - 2.5 hours course is designed to provide parents and carers with the opportunity to

develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency paediatric

first aid situatons which could arise when looking after babies and children.


The course can take place in the comfort of your home, with family and friends who will be

caring for your child or who have children of their own.


The course can be on a weekend or an evening, with or without other children running about.

The idea is to bring the skills and knowledge to you, in your normal routine.


Objectves:


Help a baby or child who is:

• unresponsive and breathing normally (recovery positon)

• unresponsive and not breathing normally (CPR & AED)

• having a seizure

• who is choking

• who is bleeding

• who is suffering from anaphylactic shock

• who has burns or scalds

• who has a suspected fracture

• having: an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions

• Help a baby or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose

• Help a baby or child with a bite or sting

• Put together appropriate contents for a first aid box


£30 per person (Minimum of 6)

£25 per person (8 or more)


All partcipants will receive the Qualsafe ‘Paediatric First Aid Made Easy’ Book to refer to,

following the course.
